Since there are religious and non-religious people and cultures, two divisions of Grace and Gift Ministries exist: Global Listening Initiative and Ministries to Churches. Global Listening Initiative will not contain proselytizing material and teaching, and Ministries to Churches will include proselytizing material.
The mission of Grace and Gift Ministries is to facilitate community connections among people of difference. This means that we will teach people how to listen and hear the “other” in their communities. Religious difference, gender difference, socio-economical difference, and differences among races and cultures are starting points for conversation. The goal is for social justice, peace, and unity to be developed and brought into our most intimate conversations in religious institutions, our homes, among friends, and at the work place. It is the mission of Grace and Gift Ministries to facilitate conversation in order to help communities, locally and globally, to pursue peace with one another.
Grace and Gift Ministries will hold open/public conferences, develop in-group material that teaches groups how to reach out beyond their boundaries, and work with people one-on-one for the development of personal perspectives for a stronger community. The key to relationship development and the facilitation of unity in the midst of difference is the ability to listen, reflect, cast vision, and resolve conflict. Grace and Gift Ministries is committed to listening, reflecting, casting vision, and resolving conflict for peace, justice, and the development of unity in communities.
Why try so hard? Because patience, love, and understanding brings peace. Sometimes we have to sit together for a long time and just listen to one another before we can actually hear what the other person is saying. We need to invite different people to the table where we can talk, eat, and drink for hours. Building healthy relationships takes a lot of work, but the work is worth it. -Allison Bollegar
